Computed with the astral Python library's moon-phase model (a standard cosine phase-angle approximation, not JPL-ephemeris-grade precision) — a computed convenience, not a navigational or tidal authority. Cross-check against an independent reference such as timeanddate.com if precision matters to you.
How is the moon phase calculated?
From the astral library's moon-phase model, a standard cosine phase-angle approximation against the ~29.53-day synodic month. It ignores the Moon's orbital eccentricity — a small, disclosed approximation, not a claim of ephemeris-grade precision.
Why no moon phase for Rodrigues?
This page computes for one canonical observer, Port Louis on the main island (docs/adr/0028) — Rodrigues differs enough in longitude to warrant its own page, not yet built.
